TOPICS OF CONCERN

  • Filipino-American History Month. Rep. Manahan introduced a measure, enacted into law as Act , Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 2008, that designates the month of October as Filipino-American History Month to annually commemorate the contributions of Filipino-Americans to Hawaii and the United States.

  • Keehi Community Resource Center. Rep. Manahan introduced a measure, adopted as House Resolution No. 59, H.D. 1, that requests the Board of Land and Natural Resources to assist the Pacific Gateway Center in finding an appropriate location to lease for the development of the Keehi Community Resource Center.

  • Keehi Lagoon; Boat Marina. Rep. Manahan introduced a measure, adopted as House Resolution No. 200, that requests the Department of Land and Natural Resources, with the assistance of the Department of Transportation, to study the feasibility of a private-public partnership to develop a boat marina near Keehi Lagoon.
