TOPICS OF INTEREST

  • Fireworks. Rep. McKelvey helped introduce a measure, enacted into law as Act 38, Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 2008, that clarifies provisions regulating display fireworks.

  • Fire-Safe Cigarettes. Rep. McKelvey helped introduce a measure, enacted into law as Act 218, SLH 2008, establishes a process to ensure that only fire-safe cigarettes are sold in Hawaii.

  • Fire Code. Rep. McKelvey helped introduce a measure, enacted into law as Act 18, SLH 2008, that clarifies the procedure for county adoption of the State Fire Code and for the State Fire Code to become part of the State Building Code, and requires the State to conduct fire and safety inspections of state airports at least once a year.
