TOPICS OF INTEREST

  • Getting Serious About Energy. Rep Morita has led the charge at the House of Representatives for renewable energy. Read more about the energy initiatives she shepherded through during the 2009 Regular Session. (Full Article).
  • Solar Energy; Agricultural Land . Rep. Morita introduced a measure, enacted into law as Act 31, Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 2008, that includes solar energy facility as a permitted use on certain marginal agricultural lands.

  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force. Rep. Morita introduced a measure, enacted into law as Act 235, SLH 2008, that appropriates funds to establish two positions to support the operations of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Task Force.

  • H2 Technologies . Rep. Morita introduced a measure, enacted into law as Act , SLH 2008, that authorizes special purpose revenue bonds to H2 Technologies, Incorporated for construction of Hydrogen Generator Appliance Laboratory and hydrogen generation and conversion facilities.
