TOPICS OF INTEREST
- Mopeds. Rep. Wakai introduced a measure, enacted into law as Act 197, Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 2008, that exempts certain three-wheeled mopeds from seating and passenger restrictions on the operation of mopeds; requires liability and property damage insurance on three-wheeled mopeds; and restricts three-wheeled mopeds to roadways with speed limits of 35 mph or less.
- Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force. Rep. Wakai helped to introduce a measure, enacted into law as Act 208, SLH 2008, that appropriates funds to establish two positions to support the operations of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force.
