                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO THE TRAFFIC CODE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Section 291C-111, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:
 
 3      "(b)  The director of transportation, the counties, and
 
 4 owners of private highways, with the consent of the county
 
 5 official responsible for traffic control with respect to highways
 
 6 under their respective jurisdictions shall place signs or curb
 
 7 markings which are clearly visible to an ordinarily observant
 
 8 person prohibiting or restricting the stopping, standing, or
 
 9 parking of vehicles on the highway.  Such signs or curb markings
 
10 shall be official signs and markings and no person shall stop,
 
11 stand, or park any vehicle in violation of the restrictions
 
12 stated on such signs[.] or markings."
 
13      SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
 
14 New statutory material is underscored.
 
15      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
