Sir:

     Your Committee on Tourism, to which was referred H.C.R. No.
201 entitled: 

     "HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTS THE GOVERNOR TO
     PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE, AND STIMULATE PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
     BUSINESSES ENGAGED IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to promote,
encourage, and stimulate private businesses engaged in the
tourism industry by requesting the Governor to abide by the
policies as specified in the measure.

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure
from Charley's Taxi & Limousine and the Hawaii Activities and
Tour Association (HAATA).

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Tourism that is attached to this report, your
Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 201,
and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Consumer
