SB 611   RELATING TO PRIVATE COURT REPORTERS         CPN,JDC
        Establishes  standards  of   practice  and  prohibited
        practices for private court reporters.

SB 492   RELATING TO COURT REPORTERS                 CPN,JDC
        Prohibits private  court  reporters  from  giving more
        than nominal gifts to their clients.

SB 1176  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX LICENSING CPN,WAM
        OF SINGLE-MEMBER LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANIES
        Provides  an  exception  from  the  G.E.T.  licensing,
        reporting, and tax  liability  for a single-member LLC
        when the member is  licensed  and pays the appropriate
        G.E.T. on the gross income derived.

SB 1472  RELATING TO UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS          CPN,JDC
        Subjects the property  of  unlicensed contractors used
        in  unlicensed  activities   to  criminal  forfeiture.
        Requires the director of commerce and consumer affairs
        to  determine  whether   criminal  forfeiture  of  the
        property   of   an   unlicensed   professional  should
        continue.

SB 651   RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION             CPN,JDC
        Makes unlawful the  shifting  of  advertising costs to
        recipients of electronically broadcast advertisements.
        Provides for  damages  and  penalties  for violations.
        Sets  jurisdiction  and   venues   for  civil  action.
        Provides  for   affirmative   defenses   and  criminal
        penalties for forgery of domain name.

SB 750   RELATING TO THE SMALL BUSINESS DEFENDER     CPN,WAM

 
                  Transfers  the  small   business   defender  from  the
                  legislative branch to  the  executive  branch with the
                  DCCA.
       
       SB 828   RELATING TO BUSINESS                        CPN,JDC
                  Prohibits businesses from charging different prices to
                  males and females for  services  that  are the same or
                  similar in nature.
       
       
                  DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.
       
       
       Persons wishing to  testify  should  submit 25 copies (three-hole
       punched) of their  testimony  to  the  committee clerk, Room 414,
       State Capitol, 24 hours prior  to the hearing. Testimony may also
       be faxed if less than 5  pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-
       At-Arms Office  at  586-6659  or  1-800-586-6659  (toll  free for
       neighbor islands), at least 24 hours  prior to the hearing.  When
       faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted,
       the date and time  of  the  hearing,  and  the required number of
       copies needed for submittal.
       
       If you require special  assistance  or auxiliary aids or services
       to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
       interpreter, wheelchair accessibility,  or parking designated for
       the disabled), please contact the  committee clerk 24 hours prior
       to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
       
       Public Folder.  A  folder  labeled "Public Folder" containing the
       measures and testimonies for  the  hearing  will be available for
       shared use by members of the public.
