HB 252     RELATING TO DEGREE GRANTING INSTITUTIONS           EDU,CPN
HD3 SD1    Prohibits  unaccredited  institutions  from issuing
           degrees unless they  comply with certain standards.
           (SD1)

HB 460     RELATING TO CHECK CASHING                              CPN
HD2        Provides caps on the  fees  that  may be charged by
           check cashing businesses.    Requires  posted and a
           separate  written  notice  of  fees  to  consumers.
           Makes violation of the  check cashing law an unfair
           or deceptive act or practice  in the conduct of any
           trade or commerce under Sect. 480-2(a), HRS.(Public

HB 657     RELATING TO TIME SHARING PLANS                         CPN
HD2        Provides disclosure statement requirements for time
           share plans in which all accommodations are out-of-
           state.    Allows   director   to  issue  six  month
           preliminary  permit  to  allow  developer  to begin
           public offerings,  subject  to  conditions. (Public
           hearing held 3/23/99)

HB 658     RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS                               CPN
HD1        Postpones requirement that  developer of time share
           plans situated within  condominium projects provide
           purchaser with  a  public  report  prior  to making
           sales,  provided   that   developer   has  obtained
           preliminary permit from  the  director of the DCCA.
