An informational briefing will be held to discuss the
opportunities of a biotechnology industry in the State of Hawaii;
to explain the University of Hawaii's role in helping build and
nurture a strong foundation for biotechnology; and to address the
actions that need to be taken by the State government, the
private sector, and the University of Hawaii, in order to foster
the development of such an industry.

The panelists include:
Dr. Alan T. Teramura, Senior Vice President for Research and Dean of the
Graduate Division at the University of Hawaii.
Dr. H. Michael Harrington, Interim Director of the Hawaii Institute of Tropical
Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii.
Dr. Gregory M.L. Patterson, Researcher at the University of Hawaii's Department
of Chemistry.
Laith R. Reynolds, Executive Chairman of ProBio Inc.
Dr. Mark E. Huntley, Chairman and CEO of Aquasearch Inc.
