SB 883   RELATING TO HOUSING                        GOH, WAM
        Enables the state finance director to issue
        short-term floating interest general 
        obligation bonds for repair and maintenance 
        of state owned public housing. (TAM)

SB 202   AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL        GOH, WAM
        OBLIGATION BONDS AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION
        FOR THE RENTAL HOUSING TRUST FUND
        Authorizes $20.0 million in G. O. bonds and
        appropriates it to the Rental Housing Trust
        Fund for rental housing. (TAM)

SB 876   RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL LEASE-TO-FEE       GOH, WAM
        CONVERSION
        Establishes a fair market value standard for
        appraising the value of the leased fee interest
        of real property to be purchased by a lessee. (TAM)

SB 884   RELATING TO THE FINANCING OF AFFORDABLE    GOH, WAM
        HOUSING
        Requires financial institutions to refinance
        or restructure a loan without requalification
        when the prevailing interest rate is 1.5% lower
        than the existing mortgage rate. (TAM)

SB 1069  RELATING TO THE HOUSING LOAN AND MORTGAGE   GOH, WAM
        PROGRAM
        Authorizes the Housing and Community Development
        Corporation of Hawaii to increase its revenue bond 
        authority by $1.0 billion. (MIZUGUCHI BR)

SB 1070  RELATING TO THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY      GOH, WAM
        DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF HAWAII
        Clarifies owner may be a household member;
        targets rental housing for very low income
        families. (MIZUGUCHI BR)

 


 
SB 1519  RELATING TO HOUSING                        GOH, WAM
        Requires assisted housing development owner 
        who is terminating a subsidy contract or 
        prepaying a mortgage to provide one years
        notice to tenants; gives tenants or nonprofit
        opportunity to purchase after July 1, 1999. (TAM)

The Committee will hold decision making only on the following

SB 290   RELATING TO HOUSING                             GOH
        Short form bill.

        (The purpose of this decision making is to recommit
        the short form bill and hold a public hearing on the
        proposed SD1 on Thursday, February 11, 1999, 1:30
        p.m., Room 224.) 

        COPIES OF SB 290 PROPOSED SD1 ARE AVAILABLE IN RM 220.
        NO TESTIMONY WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS BILL.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 220, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.
