           TRANSITION ASSISTANCE
           Establishes a transitional welfare-to-work benefits
           program for public assistance recipients.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 1726   RELATING TO FAMILY HEALTH SERVICES   HSH/HLT, FIN
           Makes family health services programs and services 
           available to persons of limited income under certain
           circumstances.  (Fox)

 


 
H.B. 1727   RELATING TO STD/AIDS PREVENTION      HLT, FIN
           PROGRAMS
           Makes the STD/AIDS prevention program available to
           persons of limited income under certain circumstances.

H.B. 508   RELATING TO THE WAI'ANAE COAST       HSH, FIN 
           COMMUNITY BENCHMARKING PILOT PROJECT
           AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT 
           THE PROJECT
           Appropriates $350,000 for the Wai'anae Coast community
           benchmarking pilot project and $50,000 to the Hawaii
           Community Services Council for technical support for
           FY 1999-2000.  Extends repeal of project 3 years to
           6/30/2003.  (Kahikina)

H.B. 527   MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE      HSH, FIN
           HALE KOKUA PROGRAM
           Provides funds for the Hale Kokua program.  (Cachola)

H.B. 550   AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL   HSH, FIN
           OBLIGATION BONDS AND MAKING AN
           APPROPRIATION FOR THE RENTAL HOUSING 
           TRUST FUND
           Authorizes $20 million in G.O. bonds and appropriates
           it to the Rental Housing Trust Fund.  Permits uses of
           funds for planning, design, costs of options, agree-
           ments of sale, and other housing development services 
           or activities.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 902   RELATING TO HOMELESS SHELTER STIPENDS HSH, FIN
           Sets homeless shelter stipends at emergency shelters
           at $20 per night.  Appropriates $1.5 million for the
           stipends.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 1369   RELATING TO HOUSING ASSISTANCE       HSH, FIN
           Appropriates funds to provide loans to families for
           rental deposits, emergency rental payments and
           mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 643   RELATING TO THE RANDOLPH-SHEPPARD    HSH, FIN
           REVOLVING ACCOUNT
           Authorizes the State Committee of Blind Vendors to
           spend up to $30,000 for the purposes of Section
           347-12.5.  (Cachola)

H.B. 279   MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE      HSH, FIN
           REHABILITATION OF MEMBERS OF
           YOUTH GANGS
           Apporpriates funds for the rehabilitation of youth

 
           gang members.  (Arakaki)

H.B. 1223   RELATING TO CHILDREN                 HSH, JHA
           Requires parents of a minor who is a parent of a child
           to be financially responsible for the support of the
           minor's child until that minor attains the age of 
           majority.  (Kahikina)
  
H.B. 1234   RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT            HSH, JHA
           Requires the withdrawal of a state security clearance
           for persons in default of their child support
           obligations.  (Leong)

H.B. 1693   AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL   HSH, FIN
           PURPOSE REVENUE BONDS FOR NOT-FOR-PROFIT
           CORPORATIONS THAT PROVIDE HEALTH CARE 
           FACILITIES
           Authorizes issuance of Special Purpose Revenue Bonds
           for a senior citizen lifecare retirement community.

H.B. 1702   RELATING TO GROUP LIVING FACILITIES   HSH, JHA, FIN
           Prohibits the construction or maintenance of a group
           living facility within 1,000 feet of any other group
           living facility by any governmental authority.
