                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COMPENSATION OF CRIME VICTIMS.
 


BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general
 
 2 revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $877,025, or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2000-2001, to be
 
 4 deposited into the crime victim compensation special fund.
 
 5      SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general
 
 6 revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $877,025, or so much
 
 7 thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2000-2001, for the
 
 8 purpose of compensating certain persons or their providers of
 
 9 service pursuant to chapter 351, Hawaii Revised Statutes, by
 
10 payments authorized by the crime victim compensation commission.
 
11      SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated shall be expended by the
 
12 department of public safety for the purposes of this Act.
 
13      SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000.
