SB 2838       RELATING TO THE STATE INTERNET PORTAL           EDU, WAM
           Establish an oversight committee to be known as the
           Access Hawaii Committee  to  review and approve the
           development and operation of an internet portal for
           electronic services.

SB 3132       RELATING TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY              EDU, WAM
           Establishes  an  information  technology initiative
           special fund;  requires  funding  for technology in
           state  government  at  two  percent  of  the  state
           budget, and four percent of  DOE and UH budgets, to
           rise to unspecified  percentages  in 2005; requires
           state  agencies   to   make   budget   and  reports
           accessible online.  (Fukunaga/Ihara/D. Ige)

SB 2352       RELATING TO COMPUTER OFFENSES.                  EDU, JDC
           Repeals  existing  law  and   adds  the  crimes  of
           computer  fraud,   taking   by  computer,  computer
           trespass, unlawful distribution, unsolicited email,
           and computer  invasion  of  privacy.   Provides for
           civil actions based on the computer crimes.

SB 2466       RELATING TO COMPUTER ACCESS BY MINORS           EDU, JDC
           Limits children's access  to on-line pornography in
           public schools and public libraries.

SB 3140       RELATING TO COMPUTER AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS. EDU, WAM
           Allows state agency heads  to purchase computer and
           communication systems with  proceeds  from the sale
           of general obligation  bonds,  including short term
           general obligation bonds.

SB 2420       RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY                          EDU, WAM
           Adds a new  chapter  to  establish  the new economy
           technology scholarship act.
