SB 2607  RELATING TO THE COMMISSION ON THE 
        STATUS OF WOMEN                            HHS, WAM
        Establishes trust fund for the Commission; makes all
        employees exempt from civil service. Allows creation
        of non-profit foundation.

SB 2063  RELATING TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS  HHS, JDC
        Requires criminal history checks for employees of
        adult residential care homes, and home care agencies
        having access to clients.

SB 2320  RELATING TO A LONG-TERM CARE COMMISSION    HHS, WAM
        Creates long-term care commission in DHS.

SB 2372  RELATING TO PAIN MANAGEMENT                HHS, JDC
        Facilitiates prescribing drugs for intractable pain in
        terminally ill patients.

SB 2485  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR END-OF-LIFE CARE EDUCATION
        OF PHYSICIANS                              HHS, WAM
        Appropriation of $37,500 for End of Life Training.

SB 2487  RELATING TO ELDER ABUSE                    HHS, JDC
        Creates criminal offense of promoting elder abuse in
        the first, second, third, and fourth degrees; defines
        terms; establishes penalties.

 


 
SB 2490  RELATING TO LONG-TERM RESIDENTIAL CARE     HHS, WAM
        Establishes an information and referral process;
        appropriation to EOA for statewide initial information
        and referral screening, requires use of uniform
        assessment tool.

SB 2489  RELATING TO BRAIN INJURY                   HHS, WAM
        Establishes a task force to identify and eliminate
        public policy barriers to neurotraining services;
        establishes community-based research, education and
        training infrastructure.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 20 copies of their
testimony with two holes on the top to the committee clerk, Room
228, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may
also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate
Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free
for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.
When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being
submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required
number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
