S.B. 2852  RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE                HHS/LRE, WAM
        Provides flexibility in utilizing current permanent
        civil service personnel and/or exempt personnel to
        carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Adult
        and Community Care Services Branch within the Social
        Services Division of the department.

FOR THE HHS/LRE HEARING, persons wishing to testify should submit
45 copies (single-sided, stapled, without holes) to the HHS
chair's office, Room 228, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the
hearing.  Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in
length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-
800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours
prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to whom the
testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing,
and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

S.B. 2782  RELATING TO BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS              LRE, CPN

 
 
 
        Defines "biological materials" and provides for the
        recognition of biological materials as personal
        property.

S.B. 2868  RELATING TO SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISPOSAL   LRE, WAM
        SURCHARGE
        Increases the solid waste management disposal
        surcharge from 35 cents per ton to 60 cents per ton
        for all disposal facilities except permitted inert and
        construction and demolition waste disposal facilities.

S.B. 2869  RELATING TO SAFE DRINKING WATER               LRE, JDC
        Increases potential fines to public water systems who
        violate drinking water requirements.

S.B. 2879  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TIRES               LRE, WAM
        Requires all entities accepting used tires to maintain
        records regarding disposition of the tires.  Creates
        additional funds to support illegal dumping prevention
        programs.

S.B. 2880  RELATING TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSE        LRE, WAM
        REVOLVING FUND
        Increases the tax on petroleum from five to twenty
        five cents per barrel.

S.B. 2881  RELATING TO CLEAN AIR                         LRE, WAM
        Authorizes the assessment of fees on air pollution
        sources to mitigate the impact of their emissions.

S.B. 2956  RELATING TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS               LRE, TIA
        Conforms the State's transportation of hazardous
        materials provisions to federal regulations.

S.B. 2990  RELATING TO THE RECYCLING OF BATTERIES        LRE, WAM
        Provides for the recycling of used lead acid
        batteries.

S.B. 3054  RELATING TO CARBON SEQUESTRATI0N              LRE, WAM
        Appropriates funds for projects and activities
        required to facilitate development of carbon
        sequestration credits.
