S.B. 2047  RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION           LRE,WAM
        Requires the director of environmental quality control
        to establish and operate an environmental protection
        hotline to enable the public to make confidential
        reports or inquiries about events that may adversely
        affect the State's environmental quality or ecology,
        as these events are taking place.

S.B. 2054  RELATING TO SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREAS          LRE, WAM
        Defines "baseline," "resource," and "scenic resource."
        Defines "substantial adverse environmental or
        ecological effect" to include; (1) irrevocable damage,
        degradation to, or loss of a resource found within an
        ahupua'a; or (2) a statistically significant
        persistent increase to the levels in any of the water
        pollutants, water quality parameters, air pollutants,
        or noise decibel levels as identified in
        administrative rules.

S.B. 2051  RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION             LRE, WAM
        Redefines "medical care" or "medical services" in
        workers' compensation law so as to include services by
        physical therapist assistants.

S.B. 2052  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRAINING          LRE, WAM
        Appropriates funds for FrontLine Leadership and
        Working training programs.

S.B. 2060  RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION         LRE, JDC

 
        Makes it an unlawful discriminatory practice for an
        employer to condition employment or hiring upon the
        employee's relinquishment of the right to initiate or
        participate in an investigation or proceeding under
        the civil rights commission law, or any other right
        under that law or the unlawful employment practices
        law.

S.B. 2085  RELATING TO ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY              LRE, WAM
        Establishes a Statewide Council on Assistive

S.B. 2087  RELATING TO ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY              LRE, WAM
        Incorporates assistive technology considerations in
        all administrative measures.

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their
testimony to the vice-chair's office, Room 217, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
