Your Committee on Education, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 248, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
HAWAI'I HISTORIC PLACES REVIEW BOARD
BENJAMIN T. TORIGOE, for a term to expire June 30, 2005,
begs leave to report as follows:
Benjamin T. Torigoe is self-employed as president and principal of his own architecture, planning, and consulting firm. He is member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Historic Hawaii Foundation, and the Hawaii Theatre Center.
Upon review of the statements submitted by the nominee, your Committee finds that Benjamin T. Torigoe has the necessary character, experience, and qualifications to serve on the Hawai'i Historic Places Review Board.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Education that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, character, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
