relating to the hawaii tourism authority.

Requires the Hawaii tourism authority to establish a registry of groups of Hawaii residents traveling to out-of-state destinations to promote and market Hawaii as a tourist destination. Allows the authority to enter into agreements with and award grants to these groups.

RELATING TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATION TAX.

Repeals the transient accommodation tax imposed on time share units.

RELATING TO TIME SHARING PLANS.

Exempts mutual right to cancel within seven calendar days and disclosure statement requirements on offers and sales outside of Hawaii of time share units located in Hawaii.

Eliminates requirement that a sales agent register regarding the time sharing plan the agent is selling.

Repeals requirement that a time sharing plan agent wear an identification badge while off-premises and engaging in acquisition or sales agent activity.

Exempts time share projects from the supplementary public report, disclosure, and delivery of public report requirements applicable to condominium sales.

Authorizes the filing of another jurisdiction's disclosure statement and vacation ownership plan if the jurisdiction's requirements are substantially similar to or more restrictive than Hawaii's registration requirements.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 218, State Capitol 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

persons wishing to testify at the hearing must register to testify PRIOR TO THE HEARING by calling the committee clerk or filling out a testimony form prior to the start of the hearing. TESTIMONY AT THE HEARING WILL BE LIMITED TO THREE (3) MINUTES FOR EACH TESTIFIER.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder. A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for shared use by members of the public.
