A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE NINTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $34,635,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2000-2001, for the following projects in the ninth representative district:

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Maui Lani Elementary School, Maui

Master plan, design, and construction, ground and site improvements, equipment, and appurtenances.

Plans $ 750,000

Design 1,000,000

Equipment 375,000

Construction 14,000,000

Total funding $16,125,000

B. Maui High School, Maui

Extension of administration building with the addition of two 15 feet by 20 feet conference room, and one 30 feet by 20 feet career center for students.

Design $ 35,000

Construction 300,000

Total funding $ 335,000

C. Wailuku Elementary School II, Maui

Design and construction of first increment; ground and site improvements, equipment, and appurtenance.

Design $ 1,000,000

Equipment 300,000

Construction 12,700,000

Total funding $14,000,000

 

 

 

D. Wailuku Elementary School, Maui

Parking lot improvements around buildings A and G; construct covered walkway between buildings J/L and J/I.

Construction $ 90,000

Total funding $ 90,000

2. To be expended by the Hawaii Health System Corporation.

A. Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui Rekey all doors, padlock, and other locking systems that are part of the master key system.

Design $ 60,000

Construction 605,000

Total funding $ 665,000

B. Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui

Construction and equipment to provide new hospital grade receptacles adjacent to each patient bed.

Design $ 100,000

Construction 1,214,000

Total funding $ 1,314,000

C. Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui

Renovation of the Maui Memorial South Wing.

Construction $ 2,106,000

Total funding $ 2,106,000

SECTION 2. The director of finance is authorized to issue hospital revenue bonds in the sum of $1,696,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following Maui Memorial Medical Center project:

A. Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui

Buyout of Nurses Cottages (32 one-bedroom units and 2 three-bedroom units) from Pan Pacific Medical Development, Inc.

Buyout of Nurses Cottages $ 1,696,000

Total funding $ 1,696,000

SECTION 3. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2003, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 4. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in sections 1 and 2 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
