A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twelfth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $20,541,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the twelfth senatorial district:

1. Queen Ka'ahumanu School, Honolulu

A. Covered walkway from building C to building F. $80,000

B. Wheelchair ramp to access building E. $25,000

Total funding $105,000

2. Stevenson Middle School, Honolulu

a. Resurface and refurbish basketball court. $150,000

B. Refurbish tennis courts. $150,000

C. Refurbish driveway, including parking lot. $120,000

Total funding $420,000

3. Lincoln Elementary School, Honolulu

a. Provide safe playground surfacing material and frames for exiting play apparatus and wheelchair accessibility.

B. Resurface parking lot for vehicle and pedestrian safety.

C. Reroof building E to repair leaks.

D. Reroute new drain line in kitchen to meet new health code requirements.

4. Roosevelt High School, Honolulu

a. Phase I: Renovation of A-4 (Auditorium) – replace ACM plaster ceiling, construct new stage, lights, projection room, seating, air conditioning.

B. Phase II: Installation of air conditioning in building A. $8,000,000

D. Refurbish stadium locker rooms. $450,000

E. Construct addition to building D (band building).

L. Sidewalk continuation approximately fifty feet in length by four feet wide; compliance with ADA

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2003, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
