Measure Title: RELATING TO CHARTER SCHOOLS.
Report Title: Charter Schools; Administrative Costs
Description: Allows charter school students to participate in athletics. Reduces from 25 to 23 the number of new century charter schools which may be established. Prohibits charter schools from suing the State or its political subdivisions. Changes per-pupil funding allocation; establishes transitional funding for conversion charter schools; requests auditor to develop an allocation methodology for conversion charter schools; exempts limited state administrative and other costs from allocation; authorizes buyback of centralized services from DOE by charter schools; determines calendar for disbursement of allocations Adds organizational viability and compliance with applicable state laws as items the BOE must evaluate during independent evaluations of charter schools.
