A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to the university of hawaii.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated to the University of Hawaii, from any premium received on the sale, and earnings derived from the investment of the proceeds, of revenue bonds that are issued by the board of regents of the University of Hawaii, pursuant to the authorization contained in Act 14, Third Special Session 2001, and are held by the University of Hawaii, an amount equal to any premium received on the sale, and earnings derived from the investment of the proceeds, of such revenue bonds, or so much thereof as may be necessary for the purpose of the continued construction of the university health and wellness center, including the new medical school facility, which is situated on the island of Oahu.

SECTION 2. The sum authorized and appropriated by this Act shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. The appropriation made for purposes of this Act shall lapse as of June 30, 2008.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon approval.
