RESOLUTION
requesting the governor to move the department of health offices to kapolei.
WHEREAS, as Oahu's population and communities continue to grow, much relief is needed to ease the traffic congestion in the commute to downtown Honolulu; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the transportation options being explored at the state and county levels, efforts are needed to better serve the communities where people live; and
WHEREAS, in recent years, Kapolei, as the second city of Oahu, has begun to accommodate state offices by relocating some state offices from Honolulu to Kapolei; and
WHEREAS, the Kapolei state offices have the infrastructure needed to accommodate the expanding service base of the Department of Health; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2005, the Senate concurring, that the Governor is requested to move a portion or all of the Department of Health offices to Kapolei as is feasible; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor and the Director of Health.
