A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to the hawaii state fair.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The department of business, economic development, and tourism and the housing and community development corporation of Hawaii shall coordinate with interested parties and other state agencies, including the department of land and natural resources and Hawaii community development authority, to identify state land located in the Kapolei or Ewa regions that can be used as permanent fairgrounds for the Hawaii state fair. The department of business, economic development, and tourism and the housing and community development corporation of Hawaii shall submit a report to the legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the regular session of 2006 and shall include, among other things, in the report a detailed description of the land and the criteria used to identify the land.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
