Your Committees on Education and Higher Education, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 142 entitled:

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING CONGRESS TO PASS LEGISLATION FOR A FEDERALLY-FUNDED, HIGH-QUALITY PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM FROM THE PRESCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY LEVEL,"

beg leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to support the right of every United States resident to have access to a high-quality public education by urging Congress to pass legislation for a federally-funded, high-quality public education system from the preschool to the university level.

The Department of Education, Americans for Democratic Action, Hawaii Chapter, and a concerned individual testified in support of this concurrent resolution.

As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Education and Higher Education that are attached to this report, your Committees concur with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 142 and recommend its adoption.
