RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS.

Requires the board of education to develop a classification/compensation plan for substitute teachers' pay commensurate with their educational training and academic qualifications. Effective 7/1/50. (SD2)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Makes clarifying amendments to the new century charter school statutes. Establishes and provides funding for a per pupil allocation funding mechanism. Allows charter school employees to participate in the State's workers' compensation system. Enables charter schools to receive federal grant moneys under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Appropriates funds for these various purposes. (SD2)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Appropriates funds to subsidize DOE information systems projects and provide additional support personnel and training to support the amendments made by Act 51, Session Laws of Hawaii 2004. Requires DOE to convert principal position to 12-month status or report to legislature reason why it is not feasible. (SD2)
