The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the recent selection of A&B Properties, Inc., by the Hawaii Community Development Authority, as the developer of the Kaka'ako Waterfront Project. The mixed-use project includes plans for developing fee-simple condominiums, shops and recreational facilities on the 36.5-arce parcel makai of Ala Moana Boulevard, next to Kewalo Basin. Abutting the property are an existing 20-acre public park, the Children's Discovery Center and the recently completed University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
The Committees will receive input at the briefing from A&B Properties, Inc., Hawaii Community Development Authority and other government agencies. Interested members of the public may submit written testimony and should provide 20 copies to the Senate Sgt. at Arms at least 24 hours prior to the briefing. The Committees will also accept oral testimony from the public, should time permit.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
