A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the forty-fifth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2006-2007.
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Waianae high school.
Girls athletic locker room.
Plans, design, and construction $2,000,000
Air conditioning and power upgrade for nineteen portable classrooms.
Plans, design, and construction $1,230,000
Expand cafeteria.
Plans, design, and construction $3,500,000
B. Waianae intermediate school.
Telecommunications upgrade.
Plans, design, and construction $585,000
Architectural barrier removal.
Plans, design, and construction $1,650,000
SPED trailers.
Plans, design, and construction $600,000
Air conditioning.
Plans, design, and construction $4,000,000
Clear area next to driveway
Plans, design, and construction $100,000
Six-classroom building

C. Waianae elementary school.

2. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Ala Hema street and Farrington highway intersection.
Traffic light/crosswalk.
Plans, design, and construction $400,000
B. Farrington highway from Makaha to Nanakuli.
Plans and design for a mauka highway as an alternative route. $1,000,000
C. Farrington highway, Waianae coast.
Plans, design, and construction of a contraflow lane. $5,000,000
3. To be expended by the University of Hawaii:
A. Leeward community college
Acquisition of Tyco building in Maili. $7,000,000
B. Leeward community college
Plans, design, and construction of a Hawaiian studies center. $3,000,000
4. To be expended by the housing and community development administration of Hawaii:
A. Assisting agencies such as Homeless Solutions, Hawaii Coalition of Christian Churches, and Honolulu Community Action Program to provide shelter for homeless population on Waianae coast.
Plans, design, and construction. $5,000,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
