A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects pertaining to windward community college.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2006-2007:

A. Campus wide

Design and construction to re-key door locks.

Design $ 8,000

Construction $ 33,000

Total funding $ 41,000

B. Campus wide

Design and construction to install ADA automatic door openers.

Design $ 12,000

Construction $ 79,000

Total funding $ 91,000

C. Theater building

Design and construction to modify loading dock ramp.

Design $ 8,000

Construction $ 55,000

Total funding $ 63,000

D. Campus wide

Design and construction to modify switchgear/transformer.

Design $ 50,000

Construction $ 270,000

Total funding $ 320,000

E. Campus wide

Design and construction to remove transite pipes.

Design $ 36,000

Construction $ 108,000

Total funding $ 144,000

F. Administration building, student services

building, and classrooms

Design and construction to replace interior water lines.

Design $ 30,000

Construction $ 200,000

Total funding $ 230,000

G. Campus wide

Design and construction to upgrade energy management system.

Design $ 50,000

Construction $ 215,000

Total funding $ 265,000

Provided that all construction work meet or exceed the leadership in energy and environmental design silver rating standards for new construction/major renovation work (LEED-NC) and existing building operations (LEED-EB) established by the United States Green Building Council for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purpose of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
