RELATING TO DEFINITION OF NEIGHBORHOOD ELECTRIC VEHICLE.

Clarifies the definition of "neighborhood electric vehicle" regarding carrying capacity, the number of vehicle wheels allowed, and the maximum gross vehicle weight rating allowed.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES.

Permits motor vehicle backup warning beepers to be disabled between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. if the vehicle's driver is assisted by another person while reversing.

RELATING TO SPEED RESTRICTIONS.

Establishes statutory maximum speed restrictions on various public roadways. Allows statutory maximum speed restrictions to be altered by official speed limit postings.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 201, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
