     Your Committees on Health and Education, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 138, H.D. 2, entitled:

 

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII JOHN A. BURNS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE'S TELEHEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE TO FORM A TASK FORCE TO REVIEW THE POTENTIAL EXPANSION OF THE CURRENT PRACTICES AND EQUIPMENT OF HAWAII'S TELEMEDICINE SYSTEM,"

 

beg leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to request the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine Telehealth Research Institute (TRI) to form a task force to explore the feasibility of expanding the State's telemedicine system.

 

     Your Committees received testimony in support of this measure from Hawaii Primary Care Association, Kaiser Permanente, the University of Hawaii System, Hawaii Pacific Health, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, and four individuals.

 

     Your Committees have amended this measure by adding the Chief Executive Officer of Kaiser Permanente or the Chief Executive Officer's designee to the task force membership.

 

     As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Health and Education that are attached to this report, your Committees concur with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 138, H.D. 2, as amended herein, and recommend its adoption in the form attached hereto as H.C.R. No. 138, H.D. 2, S.D. 1.
