1. Overview of the Briefing and the Role of HIMSS—Susan Forbes, DrPH, President, Aloha Chapter, Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS)
a. Introduction of HIMSS and HIMSS Members Participating in the Briefing
b. Objectives of the Briefing
i. Explain and exemplify the stages of development of health information exchange in Hawaii through brief presentations of HIMSS members in the community who are expanding the reach and benefit of HIT
ii. Identify linkages across the state of organizations and individuals working in this area, i.e., “connect the dots”
iii. Specify the obstacles as currently identified
iv. Consider HIMSS and its members a resource for you
