A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to public hospital projects.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to make an appropriation for public hospital projects to stimulate the State's economy.

     SECTION 2.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $50,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2009-2010 for improvements to or repair and maintenance of public hospitals in the State.

     The director of finance may use this appropriation to match federal funds that are appropriated for capital improvement projects in the State of Hawaii under any federal fiscal stimulus legislation.

     SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation.

     SECTION 4.  The appropriation authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2011, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
