RELATING TO THE LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS APPEALS BOARD.

Authorizes the labor and industrial relations appeals board (appeal board) to utilize a hearings officer and allow that hearings officer to hold a hearing, in order for the appeal board to expedite hearings on certain workers' compensation matters.

Requires the department of labor and industrial relations to use a standard reporting form to report the fringe benefit rate paid to both union and non-union laborers who perform work for the construction, alteration, or repair of public buildings and public works.

RELATING TO LIQUOR COMMISSION EMPLOYEES.

Repeals section 281-22, HRS, which allows liquor commission employees to support, advocate, or aid in the election or defeat of any candidate for public office.

Requires employers to notify employees annually of their entitlement to family leave, as well as possible adverse impact of taking family leave.

·         By Web: Testimony may be submitted online if less than 4MB in size, at http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/emailtestimony.

 

·         By Email:  Testimony may be emailed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Committee at [email protected] .  Please indicate the measure, date and time of the hearing. Email sent to individual offices or any other Senate office will not be accepted.

 

Please note:  If you submit your written testimony after 4:30 p.m. the day prior to the hearing, please sign-in at the staff table to testify orally.  A copy of your testimony may not be available during the hearing but will be posted online for the public after the hearing.
