Status

RELATING TO VETERANS.

Requires an applicant for a veteran's license plate to include a copy of the applicant's most recent discharge paper or separation document that indicates an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge from active duty.

RELATING TO UNIFORM MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE.

Repeals the uniform maintenance allowance for enlisted personnel.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Provides a temporary tax credit for residential construction and remodeling projects.

RELATING TO FLAGS.

Recognizes and requires the prisoner of war/missing in action flag to be flown with the U.S. and Hawaiian flags.

RELATING TO OUT-OF-STATE OFFICES.

Beginning July 1, 2010, requires the auditor to conduct at least every two years a management and financial audit of the department of business, economic development, and tourism out-of-state offices; requires reports to the legislature; repeals exemption from audit and accounting requirements for out-of-state offices.

Status

RELATING TO GIFT CERTIFICATES.

Extends the minimum expiration period for gift certificates from two to five years and requires issuers to honor gift certificates during this period.  Defines "service fee".

RELATING TO LIQUOR.

Repeals the prohibition on providing a premium or free goods of intoxicating liquor or other merchandise in connection with the sale of intoxicating liquor.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
