Amends custody and visitation criteria and procedure to specify what courts will consider in determining the best interest of the child.  Effective January 1, 2050.  (HD2265 HD1)

RELATING TO FIREWORKS.

Establishes a cause of action to abate the illegal purchasing, selling, possession, setting off, igniting or discharging of fireworks.  Allows the court to order the closure of any place used in violation of the fireworks law.  Allows for the forfeiture of property used in violation of the fireworks law.  (HB1987 HD1)

RELATING TO REPEAT OFFENDERS.

Excludes non-violent offenders from repeat offenders statute requiring mandatory minimum prison terms.

RELATING TO CRIMINAL PROCEDURE.

Allows for expungement of convictions for non-violent offenses that are over 5 years old.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
