Status

RELATING TO ENDANGERED AND THREATENED SPECIES.

Allows citizen suits to enforce certain conservation statutes, habitat conservation plans, and safe harbor agreements against any person.  Repeals the prohibition on approval of issuance of new safe harbor agreements, habitat conservation plans, and incidental take licenses after July 1, 2012.

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for staffing and operating expenses for the dam safety office.  Effective July 1, 2012.

RELATING TO HUNTING.

Prohibits DLNR from entering into leases of less than ten years for certain game management areas.  Requires DLNR to seek a minimum ten year lease for the Lanai game management area.  Creates a task force to promote the hunting industry on Lanai.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
