A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 386-80, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

     "§386-80  Examination by impartial physician.  The director of labor and industrial relations may appoint a duly qualified impartial physician, whose specialty is appropriate for the injury being examined, to examine the injured employee and to report.  The fees for such examination shall be paid from the funds appropriated by the legislature for the use of the department of labor and industrial relations."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2113.

Description:

Requires that a workers' compensation impartial examination be conducted by a doctor whose specialty is appropriate for the injury to be examined.  Effective January 1, 2113.  (HB436 HD1)
