A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the state foundation on culture and arts.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $200,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2013-2014 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2014-2015 for the following purposes:

     (1)  To alleviate the impact of previous reductions in general fund appropriations to the state foundation on culture and the arts.

               Total funding                          $56,000

     (2)  To include seventeen title I schools in the Artists in the Schools Program.

               Total funding                         $100,000

     (3)  To continue educational efforts in cultural preservation through a partnership with the Edith Kanakaole Foundation, University of Hawaii Biographical Research Center, PBS Hawaii, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.

               Total funding                          $44,000

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
