RELATING TO PROJECT KEALAHOU.

Appropriates $50,000 for the continued funding of project kealahou, within the child and adolescent mental health division of the department of health.

RELATING TO DIABETES.

Requires the Department of Health, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services and Department of Human Resources Development, to develop departmental plans to reduce the incidence of diabetes in the State and report to the legislature biennially on the effectiveness of those plans.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE HOSPITAL SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM.

Amends Act 217, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, as amended by Act 141, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013, to continue the Hospital Sustainability Program by extending the sunset date of the Act, updating the referral dates in the statute, and to revise the funding amount for the hospital sustainability program for fiscal year 2014‑2015.  Exempts the hospital sustainability program special fund from central services expenses assessed under section 36‑27, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ADULT FOSTER HOMES.

This bill allows a definition of "related" to include relationships by blood, by marriage, legal guardians, and trustees of the foster adult.  Legal guardians, trustees, and relatives may not continue to care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) as a foster home; permits minors with I/DD to age in place under certain conditions; clarifies that certified adult foster homes with dual certification not exceed a total of three individuals with I/DD; and prohibits adult foster homes from dual certification.
