A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to higher education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for a program coordinator and technical support staff member to complete the studies and planning necessary to implement an aeronautical training program at Honolulu community college.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2015-2016 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 for a program coordinator and technical support staff member to complete the necessary planning required for an international flight training center and associated aeronautical training programs at Honolulu community college, including any necessary planning, designing, and minor repairs to existing facilities at the Kalaeloa Airport.  The program coordinator and technical support staff member shall also plan and administer the selection process to find one or more contracted partners to provide flight training services.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by Honolulu community college for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
