A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-ninth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2015-2016.

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Honowai elementary school, Oahu

          Phase I construction to school classroom.

          Total funding                           $16,286,706

     B.   Honowai elementary school, Oahu

          Phase IB construction to the administrative building.

          Total funding                           $2,372,399

     C.   Kaleiopu'u elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for a new covered walkway from the cafeteria to building D.

          Design                                    $250,000

          Construction                            $1,200,000

          Total funding                           $1,450,000

     D.   Makakilo elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for the installation of air-conditioning throughout the entire elementary school.

          Plans and Design                          $385,000

          Construction                            $3,465,000

          Total funding                           $3,850,000

     E.   Makakilo elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for compliance with the Americans with Disability Act transition accessibility.

          Plans and Design                          $150,000

          Construction                              $895,000

          Total funding                           $1,045,000

     F.   Makakilo elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for additional parking at the rear of campus.

          Plans and Design                           $70,000

     G.   Makakilo elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for the renovation to the cafeteria flooring.

     H.   Mauka Lani elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for the installation of air-conditioning throughout entire school.

     I.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Design, construction, and equipment for a new elevated classroom building with parking below.

          Total funding                          $21,000,000

     J.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Design and construction for parking and retaining walls per the master plan first increment.

          Total funding                          $9,500,000

     K.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Design and construction for a school wide electrical upgrade.

          Total funding                            $400,000

     L.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Resurface and underlayment of the tennis courts.

          Total funding                            $370,000

     M.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Walk-in refrigerator for the career and technical education culinary academy classroom/kitchen.

          Total funding                            $150,000

     2.   To be expended by the University of Hawaii:

     A.   University of Hawaii, West Oahu

          Construction for the construction of a science, technology, and creative media facility.

          Construction                           $21,500,000

          Total funding                          $21,500,000

     B.   University of Hawaii, West Oahu

          Design and construction for a dorm building.

          Design                                  $5,500,000

          Construction                           $65,000,000

          Total funding                          $70,500,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
