A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-ninth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2016-2017 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-ninth representative district, as follows:
Department of education
1. Kauluwela elementary school, Oahu
ADA upgrades for safe wheelchair exit during fire emergencies.
Total funding $375,000
2. Farrington high school, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment to convert three rooms in FC building to PE facilities.
Total funding $600,000
3. Princess Kaiulani elementary school, Oahu
Design and construct water access to corner of campus where "exceptional" banyan tree is located.
Design $20,000
Construction $70,000
Total funding $90,000
4. Central middle school, Oahu
Construction and equipment for installation of aquaponics and hydroponics system.
Construction $180,000
Equipment $20,000
Total funding $200,000
5. Central middle school, Oahu
Renovate A building restrooms.

Department of accounting and general services
1. Hawaii theatre center, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment to update twenty year-old stage lighting.

Equipment $320,000
Total funding $350,000
2. Hawaii theatre center, Oahu
Plans, construction, and equipment retrofit the arch cove, chair and wall aisle, and dome with LED lights.

Hawaii public housing authority:
1. Mayor Wright homes, Oahu
Redevelopment of housing.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the appropriate expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
