Papa Ola Lōkahi (POL), five Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems, and the Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program are authorized by Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act (NHHCIA, Public Law 42 USC 11701).  Furthermore, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes 453-2 charges POL to recognize and convene Kupuna Councils of traditional Hawaiian healers; and Act 155 (2014) modifies HRS 226-20, codifying the State’s commitment within the Hawai‘i State Planning Act to support Native Hawaiian health as consistent with the NHHCIA. 

 

POL will provide status report and overview of current programs and activities:

1.      Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program

2.      Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems

a.       Kaua‘i:  Ho‘ōla Lāhui Hawai‘i

b.      O‘ahu:  Ke Ola Mamo

c.       Moloka‘i & Lāna‘i:  Nā Pu‘uwai

d.      Maui:  Hui No Ke Ola Pono

e.       Hawai‘i:  Hui Mālama Ola Nā ‘Ōiwi

3.      Ke Ala Mālamalama I Mauli Ola – Hawaiian Health Master Plan

4.      Traditional Healing and Kupuna Program

5.      ‘Imi Hale – Native Hawaiian Cancer Network

6.      Census Information Center

 

 

 

FOR AMENDED NOTICES:  Measures that have been deleted are stricken through and measures that have been added are underscored.  If a measure is both underscored and stricken through, that measure has been deleted from the agenda.
