A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

making an appropriation for Emergency Medical Services.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of health for the purchase of an ambulance vehicle and the operational costs for one ambulance unit.  Operational costs include equipment, supplies, and personnel costs for state-certified emergency medical services personnel.  This ambulance unit is to be a twenty-four-hour, seven-days-a-week service for the county of Kauai.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $        or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 for the purchase of an ambulance vehicle and the operational costs, including equipment, supplies, and personnel costs for state-certified emergency medical services personnel, for a twenty-four-hour, seven-days-a-week, ambulance unit for the county of Kauai.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
