MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM.

Appropriates $150,000 to the office of the long-term care ombudsman to support the long-term care ombudsman on Oahu and provide funds for contracted services through the office of the long-term care ombudsman in the counties of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui.

Appropriates funds for the healthy aging partnership program to further the program's important role in improving the health and well-being of Hawaii's kupuna.

Makes an appropriation for the aging and disability resource center.

Makes an appropriation to the department of health for the full-time equivalent fall prevention and early detection coordinator position established by Act 153, Session Laws of Hawaii 2014.

RELATING TO KUPUNA CARE.

Requires the executive office on aging to establish the kupuna caregivers program to assist community members who are providing care for elders to stay in the workforce.  Clarifies the kupuna service and support options provided by area agencies on aging within the kupuna care program.  Appropriates funds for establishing and implementing the kupuna caregivers program.
