                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR CAPITAL
   IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue
 
 2 general obligation bonds in the sum of $69,261,000, or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 1999-2000, to finance
 
 4 the following projects:
 
 5 1.   Keaukaha Gymnasium

14      SECTION 2.  The bond issuances made under this Act shall not
 
15 lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the issuances
 
16 are made; provided that all bond issuances unencumbered as of
 
17 June 30, 2002, shall lapse as of that date.
 
18      SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated shall be expended by the
 
19 county of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
 
20      SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1999.
