Sir:

     Your Committee on Human Services and Housing, to which was
referred H.C.R. No. 120 entitled: 

     "HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE STATE OF
     HAWAII'S HOPE VI GRANT APPLICATION TO ASSIST PUBLIC HOUSING
     PROJECTS AND URGING THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
     AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO ACT FAVORABLY ON THE APPLICATION,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to support the
State's HOPE IV grant application for federal funding for the
purpose of revitalizing distressed public housing projects in
Hawaii and urge the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development to grant the application.

     The Housing and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii
testified in support of this measure.  An individual submitted
oral testimony in support of this measure.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Human Services and Housing that is attached to this
report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of
H.C.R. No. 120 and recommends that it be referred to the
