     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.R. No.
205, H.D. 1, entitled:

     "HOUSE RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII TO
     INCREASE EFFORTS TO RECRUIT STUDENTS FROM ASIAN PACIFIC
     COUNTRIES TO STUDY MEDICINE AT THE JOHN A. BURNS SCHOOL OF
     MEDICINE AND TO SECURE RESEARCH FUNDS FOR THE JOHN A. BURNS
     SCHOOL OF MEDICINE,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this resolution is to request the University
of Hawaii to increase its efforts to recruit students from Asian
Pacific countries to study medicine at the John A. Burns School
of Medicine and to secure research funds for the John A. Burns
School of Medicine.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your
Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.R. No. 205,
H.D. 1, and recommends its adoption.
