SB 516        RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT                 LRE/WLH, WAM
           STATEMENTS
           Requires  the   preparation   of  an  environmental
           assessment for  actions  which  propose  any use of
           land  when  the  use  is  subject  to discretionary
           approval by a state or county agency.

(The Committee on  Water,  Land  and  Hawaiian  Affairs will hold
decision making on this bill on Friday, February 12, 1999 at 1:00
p.m. in conference room 225.)


SB 1188       RELATING TO THE KAHO'OLAWE ISLAND RESERVE         ECD/WLH/LRE
           Amends   area   authorized   for   fishing   around
           Kaho'olawe to allow for  fishing in waters at least
           20 fathoms deep  and  at  least  100 yards from the
           island of Kaho'olawe.

(The Committee on Economic Development will hold decision making on this
bill on Friday, February 12, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. in conference room 224.  The
Committee on Water, Land and Hawaiian Affairs will hold decision making on
this bill on Friday, February 12, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in conference room

SB 953        RELATING TO NATURAL AND CULTURAL             LRE/ECD/WLH, WAM
           RESOURCES
           Provides for the  Hawaii environmental authority to
           oversee   the   State's   environmental  protection
           policies.
